How to convert the Arabica price to USD per tonne and UGX per kg

Coffee C is quoted in US cents per pound. One metric tonne is 2,204.62262185 lb, so one cent per pound is USD 22.0462262185 per tonne. Multiply cents/lb by 22.0462262185 for USD/MT, divide by 1,000 for USD/kg, and multiply by the USD/UGX rate for UGX/kg.

That UGX figure is a mathematical equivalent of the futures price, not a Ugandan buying price. A buying price also needs the differential for the grade, the recovery from parchment or cherry, and the costs of processing, transport and finance.

Why Ugandan Arabica trades at a differential

Physical coffee is sold as futures plus or minus a differential for origin, grade and quality. Washed Bugisu grades usually carry a premium; natural Drugar a discount. Arabica differentials are quoted in cents per pound. Ora Markets converts them to USD/MT internally so they are never added to a Robusta-style number by mistake.
